Manual Logs Waste time and put your inventory at risk

A single unmonitored fridge or freezer failure can destroy thousands of dollars or more in pharmaceuticals or research samples. Manual checks performed daily waste your team's time and miss overnight failures, which can lead to expensive loss and regulatory citations.

Inventory Loss

Vaccines, reagents, and blood products are high-value assets. Unnoticed temperature failures lead to costly write-offs.

Survey Stress

Producing months of temperature logs for your AHJ is tedious and error-prone when logs are handwritten.

NIST-Calibration Burden

Managing recalibration schedules for large fleets of probes is time-consuming, costly and often leads to missed deadlines or equipment failures.

Automated Monitoring & Compliance

Effortless Visibility across all your inventory

Replace manual temperature logs with continuous monitoring across fridges, freezers, ultra-low units, and rooms. Sensors capture complete temperature histories, send instant alerts, and include NIST-traceable probe calibration, and AHJ-ready reports to simplify compliance workload.

Excursion Alerts
Receive calls, texts, or emails the moment a unit drifts out of range. Early and targeted alerts provide time to save the inventory.
Easy Calibration
Probe expiration dates are tracked for you. A new NIST-certified probe arrives before the current one expires, ensuring continuous compliance.
AHJ-Ready Reports
Reports are generated automatically and highlight excursions and corrective actions for surveyors.
How it Works

Install Once. Monitor Every Unit.

Step 1

Install sensors in minutes

Attach probes to fridge units or place sensors in rooms. No special setup or wiring needed.

Step 2

Automatic temperature monitoring

Track room, fridge, freezer, and ultra-low temperatures continuously.

Step 3

Activate Gateway

Sensors connect automatically to the Hexmodal gateway, which covers 250,000 sq. ft. and 1,000+ devices.

Step 4

Reports and data created automatically

View reports, excursions, trends, and calibration records in the dashboard. Export logs for surveys in seconds.

    FAQs

    Questions, answered with clarity.

Does HEX-T meet compliance expectations for pharmacies, labs, and dietary services?

Yes. HEX-T supports continuous monitoring and documentation that aligns with CMS, Joint Commission, and FDA expectations for medication, vaccine, blood, food, and specimen storage. The system captures time stamped excursions, trends, and corrective actions that surveyors commonly request.

Does the monitor require WiFi or access to the hospital network?

No. HEX T uses Hexmodal’s low frequency radio network and cellular gateway. There is no WiFi, Ethernet, or IT integration, so installations avoid delays caused by network approvals.

How does HEX-T prevent nuisance alarms?

Each device uses a glass bead buffer bottle that stabilizes readings. This prevents short term temperature spikes from door openings from triggering false alarms while still detecting real excursions.

    Is the sensor NIST traceable?

Yes. Hexmodal's Sensors are NIST traceable and Hexmodal provides recertification at no cost. This eliminates the recurring calibration fees common with traditional temperature monitoring vendors.

    What does the device monitor?

HEX T monitors internal cold storage temperature continuously. Some models also monitor humidity. All models track excursion events, duration, return to range, and corrective actions.

    How often are readings taken?

Readings are taken continuously and transmitted regularly to the Hexmodal gateway. You get a real time view of conditions instead of periodic snapshots. Set up logging in increments starting from 1-minute

    How do alerts work?

If a refrigerator or freezer goes out of range, your team receives an alert by text, email, or phone call. Alerts are sent to the right staff member based on your notification settings.

Can I set custom temperature ranges?

Yes. You can create custom high and low thresholds for medications, vaccines, lab specimens, blood products, dietary storage, or research samples.

Do we need to wire anything or add power outlets?

No. HEX T is battery powered and installs in minutes without tools. There are no cables, no drilling, and no connection to the building network.

How long does the battery last?

Batteries typically last three or more years. Hexmodal provides free replacements and reminders before the battery life ends.

    What happens during a survey?

All temperature logs, excursions, and corrective actions are available in the Hexmodal dashboard. Records are time stamped, easy to export, and stored in a searchable digital binder. Teams no longer need to rebuild paper logs at the last minute.

Can the system support multiple buildings or offsite locations?

Yes. Each gateway covers up to 250,000 square feet and supports more than 1,000 devices. Health systems use HEX T across acute care campuses, outpatient clinics, labs, pharmacies, and dietary operations.

Is support included in the subscription?

Yes. 24/7 compliance support, device replacements, batteries, and recertification are included at no additional cost.
